ChordMusic RCA

The ChordMusic analogue cable is the most transparent cable we’ve heard.  So clear that we could hear each change we made. First we tried a material designed to minimise mechanical noise. The original prototype RCA was astonishing just as it was, but we were curious.  The noise reduction material bought extra clarity and silence, which given what we already had was surprising.  Then we fitted an extremely lightweight, external silver-plated braid that could be used to cover the cable assembly. Again there was an extra degree of silence which we could hear clearly on the ChordMusic but not on other cables we’d tried it with.

The final colour was decided – white, although black versions are available to order.  Plugs remain the same silver-plated ultra-low mass contacts with a machined PTFE surround. We have yet to find a better RCA plug.

This is how all current ChordMusic RCA cables are made and this is what you’ll listen to if you visit a ChordMusic retailer and borrow one to try at home.

The lessons we’ve learned over the past few years have been both glorious and somewhat sobering.

Glorious because the Tuned ARAY and the Super ARAY conductor designs can transform the sound from CDs and streaming devices into music that sounds so much more real, believable and emotionally involving.

Sobering because the Tuned ARAY and Super ARAY conductor designs explicitly show just how much more conventional cables designs can blunt the potential performance of pretty much any audio system.

So where does the ChordMusic RCA live, and what level of system is really going to benefit?  We’ve heard this cable transform £240,000 systems, £20,000 systems and £5,000 systems.  It’s a cable that carries a signal so accurately, so coherently and so completely.  What it does is unique and there isn’t another way to achieve it.  We had a recent visitor with a huge system, dedicated listening room and speakers that cost substantially more that the entire system that was in our demo room when he visited.  He’s a music lover and he bought his own CDs with him. He e-mailed later that night when he’d got home.

“My system is so much bigger and has so much more bandwidth and dynamics, but yours showed me so much more musical inner detail and was far more emotional and involving” I tried all the tracks we played on mine and I think I preferred them on yours. Can I arrange to borrow the cables to try please?”

So whether you have a decent integrated amplifier and source along with good pair of speakers, or you have a big system with pre and power amplifiers, a high end source and high end speakers, at some point you need to have a listen to ChordMusic.  It will let you experience your music and your equipment at it’s very best. It will let you rediscover the music in your collection and while it’s easy to get used to what a lot of upgrades deliver, with the ChordMusic the sheer reality and beauty of what you’re playing delights every time you listen.

Product review: Chord ChordMusic – Gadgety News Oct 2016

One sure-fire way of starting a flame war on forums and Facebook pages is by mentioning the abilities of cables in your Hi-Fi system. Some will argue based on pure science, others by experience. Personally, I choose to use my ears and a healthy dollop of skepticism. The thing is, no matter the reason, leads...

ChordMusic the inside story Chord has officially launched its most ambitious cable range to date in ChordMusic.
