Chord Scart RGB - April 2002

The Scart socket was once the most commonly used connector on all audio video equipment. Although largely superseded by the HDMI connector there are still a lot of DVD players and televisions that would benefit from fitting Chord's high performance Scart RGB. The Scart plug was conceived as a multi-purpose connector and was fitted with 21 pins, some of which have never been used.

Most Scart plugs are wired on all 21 pins. Chord found that performance could be significantly increased by wiring just the pins needed to carry an RGB signal and like the Component cable, the Scart RGB will carry a signal over a significantly long length with no loss of picture quality. The Chord RGB Scart's ability to carry signal information with minimal loss or interference will improve the colour, contrast and detail of the picture.
