Chord Signet technical information

The high frequency effective combination shielding used in both the Chorus 2 and Anthem 2 interconnects is a critical feature of the Signet design. In the case of the Signet both the Teflon™ insulated, silver-plated signal and return conductors are individually shielded. The configuration is taken from our award-winning Signature interconnect.  The improvements that this combination of separately shielded conductors and high frequency effective shielding makes to cables ability to accurately carry an audio signal are genuinely impressive.

Fitted with Chord low mass, non-compression RCA plugs the Signet will accurately transmit the subtlest levels of tonal information that are so critical to defining the timbre of individual instruments.

This is an interconnect that will allow you to explore the complex harmonic relationships that occur within any group of instruments. At the same time the extremely low noise floor means that the smallest dynamic shifts can be clearly heard and because this helps to clarify the attack of every instrument, the relationships that exist both rhythmically and harmonically within any piece of music become clear and easy to follow.

The Signet shares its conductor configuration with the Chord Signature Plus. This means that the already outstanding performance that Signet can bring to a system can be improved still further. Signet interconnects can be returned The Chord Company and upgraded to full Signature Plus specification. Apart from the very obvious addition of Chords unique vibration damping acrylic plug surrounds the upgrade involves the fitting of new plugs and crucially the addition of a secondary signal return conductor.   Find out more about the Signet upgrade

Use it with:

The Chord Signet RCA is derived from the company's original Signature product, the Chord Signature RCA. The Signet offers all of the performance of the Signature with the added bonus of being upgradeable to full Signature Plus specification and performance. Given that Signature speaker cable was originally developed in order to complement the Signature interconnect, the Signet combined with Signature speaker cable will work extremely well. However, the performance improvements the Signet brings to a system will be as readily apparent when used with either Odyssey or Epic speaker cables.

The Signet opens up some fascinating upgrade options. Firstly, there are speaker cables to consider. If you are running Signet with Odyssey, consider a change to either Epic or Signature. Both these cables will perform extremely well in combination with the Signet and will bring improvements to levels of detail, dynamics and substantial improvements to all frequencies, but particularly the bass. If you are already running one of these cables then take advantage of one of the unique features of the Signet. It is the first cable in Chord's range to be offered with an upgrade path.

The Chord Signet can be returned to the Chord Company where it can be rebuilt to full Signature Plus specification. The improvements this brings are substantial. Dynamics, detail, clarity, space and stereo image all take a big step forward.

Terminations:

The Signet is available fitted with low mass, non compression, silver-plated RCA plugs.  The construction of the Signet means that we are unable to offer this cable with other terminations.

The configuration of the Signet has been optimised to perform at its best when fitted with RCA connectors.  The cable will not perform to its best when fitted with XLR balanced connectors.  It is however possible to use the Signet to connect a XLR balanced output or input to a RCA input or output.  This does not compromise the Signet’s performance and the cable can be ordered in either XLR balanced to RCA or RCA to XLR balanced configuration.

Lengths:

The Signet is available in 1 metre lengths.  For reasons of sound quality we do not recommend lengths shorter than 1 metre.  Custom lengths are available to order.
