Installation cables

Planning on installing either ceiling or in-wall speakers as part of a home cinema system or for music around the home? If so, give some thought to the cables you are going to use. Just as the cables you choose for a dedicated hi-fi system will be crucial to the enjoyment of your music, the cables you use for carrying signals to in-wall or ceiling speakers are also important. Remember, replacing cables fitted to an in-wall speaker can be a time consuming and costly exercise. Better to fit the right cable in the first place.

The Chord Company produce a range of dedicated Installation Cables based on proven designs. Both Chord Rumour and the award-winning Chord Odyssey speaker cables are available in installation versions. The twisted-pair conductor configuration and Teflon™ insulation is identical to their silicone jacketed counterparts but the absence of an outer jacket makes them incredibly easy to install and simple to hide away. The silver-plated conductors and Teflon insulation guarantees that these cables will maintain their levels of performance for many years.

Chord Leyline was specially designed for high performance multi-room installations. Leyline utilises the same twisted pair configuration found in Chord’s other speaker cables. The conductors are constructed from oxygen free copper with a special coating. This coating helps to maintain high frequency information over the extremely long runs of cable often needed in custom installations. The conductor insulation is polyethylene and the outer jacket is built from a tough PVC.

Chord Campana is an excellent starting point for multi-room systems. Simple in design, it employs multi-stranded oxygen free copper conductors with a tough polyethylene insulation. Campana is extremely discreet and simple to install.

One of the advantages of Chord speaker cables sharing such similar designs is that they are extremely compatible with each other. A popular option for home cinema systems is to use either Rumour or Odyssey for the front three speakers and Leyline or Carnival Classic for the rears.
