Chorus tech info back chord co home

What is it?

The Chorus is another twisted pair design using two runs of coaxial cable with silver plated conductors and Teflon® insulation. The central conductors are of an unusually large gauge compared to most interconnects (actually the same size as Rumour speaker cable).

The dielectric is Teflon® and the shield is a closely woven, silver plated braid. The two runs of cable are twisted together by hand and the twists are held in place with lengths of heat shrink tubing (red is used for the right hand interconnect and black for the left). This is another balanced design cable that uses the two central conductors for send and return whilst the two shields are connected at one end of the cable to make a floating earth.

Terminations

The Chorus is fitted with silver plated RCA plugs or XLR connectors (silver plated contacts). Because of the size of the central conductors the Chorus is not available fitted with Din plugs.

Uses

The Chorus is really pretty happy almost anywhere; decent A/V systems, CD players, pre to power amps. Longer lengths are not a problem and reliability is outstanding.

How does it sound?

Very open, neutral, fantastic bass performance and great dynamics, this is a high performance
interconnect but it is also one that will dramatically improve the sound of even quite modestly priced equipment. It is also worth pointing out that the Chorus interconnect brings a real sense of fun and enjoyment to all sorts of hi-fi systems and any interconnect that helps you enjoy the music more must be going in the right direction. There have been really good reviews of this cable in Hi-Fi News, What Hi-Fi and Hi-Fi World and the Chorus received a 'Best Buy' Award from What Hi-Fi in 2001.
