Chorus 2 (press release) chord co home

The Chorus has been part of the Chord range since 1998 and has always proved a difficult interconnect to replace. However, the advances we have made in understanding and using high frequency shielding systems and the benefits these bring to the performance, gave us the chance to make some real improvements.

The central conductor remains silver-plated and insulation is still Teflon. Some of the character that made the original Chorus so popular was due to the unusually heavy conductor gauge and this feature is carried through to the new design. The shielding system has been borrowed from the Chord Signature and like the Signature, the shield is not part of the signal path. The RCA plugs are the same Chord silver-plated design that were fitted to the original Chorus and the distinctive red and black outer jackets have also been carried through to the new design.

The quality and configuration of the advanced shielding system are largely responsible for the improvements in dynamics and resolution. The original Chorus had a reputation for being particularly strong in the bass region. This is still the case with Chorus 2 but the performance is more controlled, dynamic and tonally neutral.

The combination of Chorus interconnects and Odyssey speaker cable has been immensely popular and the new Chorus 2 combines extremely well with Odyssey but crucially, the new shielding system means that it becomes an excellent choice for running in combination with Chord Epic speaker cable. This combination can bring some genuinely surprising improvements to most systems. Chorus 2 is available in 1 and 0.5m lengths. Chorus 2 is also available terminated with XLR plugs.
