Chord Leyline 2 speaker cable
Chord Carnival Classic speaker cable
Chord Leyline speaker cable has been designed to offer good quality low loss signal transmission over extremely long runs. The conductors are constructed using polyethylene insulated, tin-plated, multi-strand oxygen free copper. This is the only cable in our range to use this form of conductor, and it was chosen after experimentation with long runs of cable showed that tin-plating helped to minimise high frequency signal loss. The conductors are twisted along the length of the cable to help reduce interference.   The entire range of Chord speaker cables share broadly similar design principles. Chord Carnival Classic is similar to Leyline 2 in its use of Oxygen free multi-strand copper conductors and polyethylene conductor insulation. The differences are in the diameter of the conductors and the diameter of the polyethylene insulation that surrounds the conductors. The larger diameter conductors offer a lower resistance than those used in the Leyline and Carnival Classic will carry information across a wider frequency bandwidth. This is particularly noticeable across the bass frequencies and makes the Carnival an excellent choice for use with home cinema as well as hi-fi systems. Carnival Classic's ability to accurately carry dynamic information makes it a particularly good choice for the front three speakers of a home cinema system, with Chord Leyline carrying information to the rear speakers.
Leyline is most commonly used to carry signals from a central amplifier in multi-room installations. However, it is also a popular choice for use with rear speakers in home cinema systems where its discreet size and colour make it a simple cable to install.   Chord Carnival Classic is available as a twin conductor cable. If you wish to use this cable in a bi-wire configuration, simply use two runs.
